Michael Kister, President and CEO

Mike has twenty years of experience leading successful technology startups, both as stand-alone ventures and as new business units within established organizations. Mike has led four new business initiatives from conception to profitability: an Internet Service Provider, a web marketing/e-commerce company, and the e-commerce divisions of two different Fortune 1000 industrial distributors. The most successful of these startups generates $300 million in annual revenues as part of a $4 billion publicly traded company. Mike has conducted turnarounds at his last two engagements. In each case he successfully revitalized a stagnated organization – identifying new markets, creating new products and capabilities, rebranding the companies, overhauling the staff, and focusing the operations. He was tapped as CEO of Acceleration Systems on April 1, 2013. Go figure.

Mike has a BS in Chemistry from Bowling Green State University, and a Juris Doctorate from Case Western Reserve School of Law. He is a Member of the Ohio State Bar and sits on the Marketing Advisory Council for Bowling Green State University.

Warren Bailey, CTO

Warren has built a career around implementing and improving the efficiency of large-scale challenged link networks such as satellite and fixed wireless. Warren was part of the engineering team that designed and built a 65,000 square mile microwave network connecting remote communications stations to the Joint Pacific Alaska Range Complex (JPARC). As a Senior Engineer for prestigious telecommunications carrier GCI (NASDAQ: GNCMA, General Communications, Inc.), Warren was responsible for several iDirect-based Satellite networks operating on multiple transponders on C and Ku-Band. Through the application of efficiency technology, Warren helped GCI realize over $2,000,000 per year of cost savings. Warren then joined Panasonic Avionics, where he led the team that implemented the Global Communications Suite, the largest aeronautical Ku-band satellite network in existence today, providing 1,200 MHz of capacity to airlines around the world.

Warren joined the team full-time to lead our Streambed efforts in 2015.

Nancy Rubin, CFO

Richard McKinney, VP of Strategic Accounts

Richard has spent his professional life in technology sales and marketing. After a tour in the U.S. Army, he founded Spring Green Multimedia in the 1970’s to develop and market audio interviews with Nobel Laureates and other prominent physicists and astronomers. The interviews communicated the human side of science and the people behind the science. The tapes enjoyed an extended life in science classes at the high school and college level.

After selling rights to the recordings to a large science materials distributor, Richard worked for eight years at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center where he performed analysis of data returned from LandSat, the first earth resources satellite.

At 35, he took a sabbatical and spent a year sailing the Caribbean with his wife and infant daughter. Upon his return, Richard directed his energy to marketing and sales which included consulting and a stint as an account executive in an advertising agency before joining satellite-based Internet Service Provider Skycasters. Richard quickly became Skycasters’ top producer, a position he maintained for 12 years. Through conversations with prospective users of challenged-link connectivity, Richard recognized the need for an affordable acceleration and optimization solution and conceived Acceleration Systems.

Richard holds a BS in Physics and a BS in Mathematics, both from Otterbein University.

Jack McKinney, VP of Engineering

Jack has 45 years of experience in technology design and development. After participating in the development of the first LSI (Large Scale Integration) memory chip at IBM in the late 1960s, he focused on software development. He led development of the communication network for IBM’s first fully automated typewriter factory in the mid 1980s. The network integrated a mainframe, 200 Series 1 process control computers, and 1600 device controllers to handle automated assembly of typewriters. A first in the integration of large scale production automation with five 9’s availability, this system became a product which IBM marketed internationally.

Subsequently, Jack worked as a manufacturing consultant on numerous IBM automation projects for a variety of clients, including Ford, General Motors, grocery distributor Spartan Stores, and pharmaceutical distributor Bergen Brunswig. After leaving IBM in the 1990s, he worked as an independent manufacturing consultant. In the late 1990s, Jack joined an IBM re-marketer in Lexington, KY, where he led the development of numerous large scale database projects including the development of a new financial system. Many IBM re-marketers use this accounting package to run their businesses.

Jack has a BS in Electrical Engineering from Case Institute of Technology and an MS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Akron.
